Westmont’s Spring Sing, a student-performed variety show and competition between residence halls, celebrates its 56th anniversary on Saturday, April 1, at 6:30 p.m. at the Santa Barbara Bowl. Tickets, which are $25 for general admission and $11 for children 12 and under, can be purchased through AXS.com or at the bowl box office.
The tradition of Spring Sing began in 1961 with a few students gathering on the lawn near the Dining Commons and singing a medley of songs. Over the years, the event evolved into an elaborate production with an intensive planning committee and months of diligent preparation on the part of the student body.
The skits, which include faculty and staff, are required to use the phrase of this year’s theme: “So you’re saying there’s a chance?”
