Westmont hosts 32 high school basketball teams from the state of Washington to San Diego in two separate tournaments June 23-25 and June 30-July 2 in Murchison Gym. The 44th annual High School Summer Varsity Basketball Tournament games are played on Fridays from 1-11 p.m., Saturdays from 8 a.m.-11 p.m. and Sundays from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Tickets, which cost $10 for the day, $5 for kids and seniors, and $15 for the three-day tournament, may be purchased at the door. Children under 12 are free with paid adult admission. Free admission for youth coaches and their team.
Sixteen high school basketball teams will compete in 30 games during each three-day tournament.
The first tournament (June 23-25) features Segerstrom (Santa Ana), Cypress (Cypress), Mt. Carmel (San Diego), Beckman (Irvine), La Habra (La Habra), Sonora (La Habra), Valencia (Valencia), El Dorado (Placentia), San Dimas (San Dimas), Sierra (Tollhouse), Monrovia (Monrovia), Van Nuys (Van Nuys), Thousand Oaks (Thousand Oaks), St. Josephs (Santa Maria), Santa Barbara (Santa Barbara) and Mission Prep (San Luis Obispo).
The second tournament (June 30-July 2) includes Trinity (Valencia), St. Bonaventure (Ventura), Murietta (Murietta), Clovis (Clovis), Arroyo Valley (San Bernardino), Kingsburg (Kingsburg), Madera (Madera), Mt. Whitney (Visalia), Pacific Grove (Pacific Grove), University (Irvine), El Diamante (Visalia), Redwood Christian (Castro Valley), Liberty (Bakersfield), Saugus (Saugus), San Marcos (Santa Barbara) and Stanwood (about 50 miles north of Seattle).
