A look at the stat sheet makes it difficult to understand the scoreboard. Despite outshooting the Bulldogs 29-4, the Warriors dropped their record to 2-3 in losing a double overtime game to Redlands 2-1. The Warriors’ dominance of the game included an 8-3 advantage on corner kicks but they could not turn the opportunities into goals. Four Warriors had at least four shots, but their only goal came in the 56th minute when Kristi Peich’s shot ricocheted off the cross bar and Jessica Schoepke was there to punch it and tie the score at one.

The Bulldogs scored in the second minute of the game when Lauren Margentic scored off a corner kick. Redlands would not score again until the second overtime period. After a free kick to the front of the net, Sara Compton ended the game with the golden goal.

This weekend, the Warriors travel to the Northern California to take on Holy Names on Friday and Notre Dame de Namur on Saturday.
