Men’s Soccer Falls to Redlands

The visiting University of Redlands Bulldogs (3-1-1) took revenge on the Warriors of Westmont with a 3-1 victory at Russ Carr field. A lost to the Warrior’s last year was the only blemish on Redlands’ otherwise perfect regular season record. The desire to settle the score was evidenced in the Bulldogs’ on field hustle and intensity as Redlands outshot the Warriors 13-5.

Westmont (4-2) scored first in the third minute of the game when Michael Thompson dribbled the ball down the middle of the field, beat his defender and connected on a shot from 10 yards out. But the Bulldogs would hold the Warrior’s scoreless for the next 87 minutes while scoring three goals of their own. In the 21st minute, Eric Rolwing crossed the ball to Liam Conners who tapped it into the left corner of the net. Just before half time, Seastian Aldaz scored off a corner kick from Sergio Juarez. Three minutes into the second half, Conners would score again from 5 yards.

Westmont will travel to Belmont on Saturday to take on Notre Dame de Namur University in an 11:00 a.m. game.
