Despite intense play and great effort, the season came to an end tonight for Westmont Women’s Soccer. The Warriors fell to top-seeded Lindsey Wilson in the second round of the NAIA National Championships. The Warriors did a supurb job holding the Blue Raiders’ offense in check. Misty Plumb had a remarkable game at defender, especially in the first half, as she simply outbattled her opponent for position and possession.

The game’s only goal came in the 41st minute off a free kick from Lindsey Wilson’s Rowene Alsanea. Both teams took eight shots, but the Warriors had a 6-0 advantage on corner kicks. Emalia Cornwell had two saves on the night. The Warriors finish the season with a record of 10-8-2.
