Westmont junior Alex Bush of Menifee is one of nine baseball players to be named to the 2015 Rawlings-NAIA Baseball Gold Glove team. Bush also received NAIA All-American honorable mention recognition as did teammates Russell Harmening of Oceanside, Will Barring of Tustin and Blake Matthias of Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Gold Glove award recipients, selected by the NAIA Baseball Coaches Association All-America Committee, are honored for their defensive play. One player is chosen for each position. Bush was selected for his play at first base.

Out of 408 defensive chances, Alex Bush recorded 378 putouts, 29 assists and just one error, resulting in a fielding percentage of .998. Bush was on the receiving end of 26 double plays on the season.

Bush is just the second Warrior to receive an NAIA Gold Glove Award.

Offensively, Bush batted .377, which was second best in the Golden State Athletic Conference. He was the conference leader with 78 hits. Bush drove in 35 runs and delivered eight home runs.

Barring led the conference in batting average at .377, edging out Bush by .000639. Barring recorded 77 hits (second in the GSAC), drove in 55 runs and produced eight home runs.

Matthias led the GSAC in RBIs with 60 while accumulating a batting average of .356 (fourth in the GSAC) and tallying 74 hits (tied for fourth in the GSAC). Matthias led the Warriors with 11 home runs (tied for third in the GSAC).

Harmening, the GSAC pitcher of the year and the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table College Baseball Player of the Year, recorded a GSAC best ERA of 1.59 in 113 innings of work. He posted a record of 10-3 while striking out 95 against just 17 walks.
