(SANTA BARBARA, Calif.) Westmont women’s tennis team has officially signed San Diego native Isabel Lee to their 2015-16 roster. The senior is finishing up a very impressive career at Scripps Ranch High School. Her accomplishments include being a finalist for the Western League tournament three of her four years, earning the 2014 Margaret Weckerly Sportsmanship Award and being named to the 2013 All CIF Women’s Team.

“I first heard of Isabel from a family friend who was adamant that I had to get her and they were right,” explained head coach Kendyll McManigal. “She is exactly what we want on and off the court. She is very athletic, plays a solid game, works hard and loves the game of tennis. She has played in many tournaments and knows how to compete at a high level.”

The freshman is expected to step right into the middle of a lineup since she is versatile enough to contribute immediately at any position assigned. Lee’s work ethic and extensive tournament history will translate over well to match play, even as a first year.

“She won’t come in as a top player but will provide stability and a strong ethic at the position she plays,” raves McManigal. “I love her humility. There is no pride or arrogance about her even though she is strong and talented. That quality combined with a great game is what makes us so excited about having her join our program!”
