After winning the Women’s Tennis Golden State Athletic Conference Tournament, individuals from the #7 Westmont Women’s Tennis team (10-7) received further recognition. Senior Lauren Stratman, Junior Ines Costamagna, assistant coach Nicci Yvanovich, and head coach Kendyll McManigal were all honored.

Stratman was named the GSAC Women’s Tennis Player of the year for the third year in a row, was named to the All-GSAC team and honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association as an NAIA Regional Award Winner for Senior Player of the Year.

Stratman was 12-3 on the season in number one singles and was unstoppable with a 9-0 record in conference play. She was also 14-2 in number one doubles, with partner Isabel Lee.

Costamagna was named to the All-GSAC team and honored by the ITA as an NAIA Regional Award Winner for Player to Watch. Costamagna was 7-5 in number two singles and 11-4 in number two doubles, with partner Haley Strandness.

For the first time in her three-year coaching career, McManigal was named the GSAC Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year. McManigal coached the Warriors to a regular season GSAC Championship as well as a Tournament Championship. At the GSAC Tournament Championship, the Warriors swept everyone they played and did not allow a single point.

Additionally, the ITA named Yvanovich as an NAIA Regional Award Winner for Assistant Coach of the Year.

Under the leadership of McManigal and Yvanovich, the Warriors will look to advance far into the NAIA Championship Tournament, which will take place on May 17-21 at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Alabama.
