Freshman Maddi Berthoud was named the Golden State Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for her performances in two Westmont conference victories this past week. Berthoud had three assists and two goals on the week.

In the Warriors’ 4-1 win over Menlo last Thursday, Berthoud assisted Haley Parzonko in scoring the first goal of the game in the 26th minute, and then assisted Brooke Lillywhite in scoring another goal in the 48th minute.

Last Saturday, Berthoud was involved in each of the Warriors’ three goals in their 3-1 win over William Jessup. She scored the first goal of the game in the ninth minute with a volley off of a cross by Haley Johnson. Five minutes later, Berthoud assisted Jackie Lopez in scoring the Warriors’ second goal, and in the 66th minute, Berthoud scored the Warriors’ third goal when she capitalized off of a corner kick by Grace Lemley.

Berthoud is an offensive force for the Warriors and in the GSAC as she ranks high in several GSAC statistical categories – third in total goals (11), third in total assists (8), and second in points (30).

Westmont Women’s Soccer currently has an overall record of 14-2-1 and a GSAC record of 7-2. The Warriors will play their last conference match of the season today in Santa Clarita against The Master’s (8-5-3, 4-3-1 GSAC).
