Diana Palmer


Head Athletic Trainer / Sports Medicine Program Director

Diana Palmer is entering her 17th year with Westmont College. Her role as Head Athletic Trainer and Assistant Professor of Kinesiology involve overseeing all facets of the Sports Medicine Clinic and teaching responsibilities.

In addition to her duties at Westmont, Palmer is employed as the athletic trainer and soigneur for the USA triathlon national and traveling teams for 2005, T-Mobile Professional Cycling Team medical consultant in 2004, and the athletic trainer for the USA Cycling Team at the Pan American Games in 2003. She has assisted in providing medical care at the Kona IronMan Championships from 2003-present.

Palmer served as the athletic trainer for the AVP volleyball tournament in Santa Barbara in 2001, and performed a residency at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs the same year. She has been employed as the medical director for the Santa Barbara Polo Club for the last 11 years as well as being the Medical Director for the 1998 Federation of International Polo World Championships.

Palmer is a 1986 graduate of Linfield College (OR). She earned two bachelors degrees in Psychology and Physical Education. She attained her Master’s Degree at the University of Oregon. While there she provided medical care in the sports medicine center with emphasis on medical coverage of the women’s volleyball team and Thurston High School athletic teams.

 


Megan Bynum


Assistant Athletic Trainer

Megan is entering her third year at Westmont, working as Assistant Athletic Trainer along side of Diana Palmer.

Megan is a graduate from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she received her master’s degree in Sports Medicine. At UTC, she worked with all the intercollegiate sports but mainly the women’s soccer team. She played Division I soccer at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro while earning her bachelor degree in Biology/Pre-Med.
