From students rushing the floor in victorious celebration to uniting their voices at chapel, Murchison Gymnasium has been the center of student life at Westmont for nearly four decades. Since its opening in January of 1969, it has been the home of over 450 basketball and volleyball athletes and has housed more than 1,000 athletic events within its walls. Warrior fans have watched their teams win over 75 percent of their games.

Chet Kammerer won more games than any other coach in Westmont history. He led the Warriors to 357 victories in his 17 years at Westmont and was inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame in 2000. Through his leadership and character, he not only shaped the teams of the past, but his legacy continues to impact the teams and athletes of the future.

Features of the proposed Murchison Gymnasium renovation include:

  • A brand new D-I-N certified hardwood floor with innovative technology, allowing for great performance while minimizing bodily stress.
  • New state-of-the-art bleachers providing comfort for our loyal Warrior fans, including a VIP chair-back section
  • Full interior renovation of walls, lighting and overall aesthetics
  • New wireless digital scoreboards
  • Newly designed lobby to enhance the game-day experience, including:
    • Hall of Fame renovation
    • New concessions stand
    • Warrior gift shop
