Wildfires sweep across Southern California, leaving many Westmont students with families caught in a different kind of crossfire. As of Monday evening, 17 wildfires were scattered across Southern California. Look around Westmont and you will see leaves, branches, and ash strewn on the paths, lawns, and corners of campus; but look elsewhere and you will find palm trees lit like giant torches, brown-muddled skies, and hills covered in flame... more

Alumni welcome eighth president at grand gala

On Oct. 5, the office of Alumni & Parent Relations hosted the first ever Presidential Platinum Gala to celebrate Westmont’s 70th anniversary and welcome Dr. Gayle Beebe at the Fess Parker Double Tree.
Driving from northern California to the gala, an alumnus phoned Emilee Hurlbert ‘06, Alumni & Parent Relations Assistant, to ask about his progress on the 90-person waiting list: “what number am I?”
“13,” Hurlbert said. “That’s good enough,” he said as he continued his commute to the event. more
