We are delighted to announce that through the generosity of gallery owners, Carli and Sloan Schaffer (101 Exhibitions – LA and Miami), we have acquired a painting by Westmont Alum, Robin Eley!
The work is Oil on Belgian Linen, titled Hypostasis 1 and it can be seen in our current exhibition: Journey’s: Westmont Alumni Artists’ Invitational.
Our Alumni Show, Journeys: Westmont Alumni Artists’ Invitational, recently received glowing reviews from the Santa Barbara News-Press:
“…an impressive group show at the Westmont Ridley-Tree Museum of Art.”
“…one of the more exciting new small art museums on the West Coast.”
They even took time to mention and review each of the artists work!

The show will be on display until November 17th and features a wide-range of work and explorations from traditional painting to conceptual explorations by Chris Rupp and Robin Eley. There is also a great representation of graduates from different eras of Westmont’s life, ranging from Cheryl Anne Thomas, who attended westmont in the mid-60s, to Joel Phillips who graduated just last year.
Thank you Santa Barbara News-Press and Josef Woodard for the review!
Here is the invitation to our upcoming exhibition, please feel free to pass it along to anyone you think would be interested!
A surprise package showed up at the Westmont Ridley-Tree Museum of Art on Monday. We eagerly opened the package to find a wonderful and large etching By Jean Pesne (1623-1700) after Nicholas Poussin’s, L’ Assomption de la Vierge painting.
This wonderful gift was given by print dealer, James Bergquist in Honor of Dewayne and Faith Perry.
Thank you James, Dewayne, and Faith!
He is a small teaser of some of the work that will be included in our upcoming Journeys: Westmont Alumni Artists’ Invitational. This promises to be a fantastic exhibition and you will have to come see the show to view these images in their entirety.
We hope to see you at the reception on October 18th from 4-6p!
