Local Poetry Event Features VanderMey

Randall VanderMey, Westmont professor of English, will read from his latest book, “Charm School: Five Women of the Odyssey,” at a poetry reading Sunday, Dec. 17, at Karpeles Manuscript Library, 21 West Anapamu St., at 2:30 p.m.
Two other local poets will participate in the event, Perie Longo, reading from her newest book, “With Nothing Behind but Sky: A Journey Through Grief;” and David Starkey sharing from “Ways of Being Dead: New and Selected Poems.” Artamo Press has recently published all three of the books.
A book signing will take place immediately following the reading at Artamo Gallery, 11 West Anapamu St., at 4 p.m.
