Westmont Business and Investments Club
Leader: Brennan De Raad
February 21, 2008
WBIC hosted the inaugural “Think-Tank” event on Thursday, February 21st at a special location provided by Westmont Alum David Jay. The Think-Tank is essentially a brainstorming session where ideas for a product, service, or entire business are presented to a group. The goal is to stimulate new ideas that the creator(s) of the idea had not considered or to help the creator(s) take the product, service or business to the next level. Paper on the walls, markers on the floor and plentiful refreshments gave the club members tools to dive into the concepts as if they were their own. Participants sign a non-disclosure agreement in order to protect the ideas presented.
Kevin Kewely, Ryan Caddell, Alec Avedessian and Brennan de Raad each presented a concept and the group of twenty-plus students and guests enjoyed the process so much that there has been demand for another. Stay tuned for details and, in the meantime, please visit our Facebook page where you can become a member and receive direct updates on upcoming events. (Photos courtesy of Scott MacRae & iPhone)

Westmont’s Business & Investments Club gathered at the Hotel
Andalucia in downtown Santa Barbara for a tour of the luxury-hotel.
Dave Odell, an adjunct Economics & Business professor and former part-
owner of the Hotel Andalucia, gave students a tour of the facilities
and a sense of the business operations in the hospitality industry.
After the tour, the club was treated to time on the roof of the hotel
to connect with other executives of the hotel and build
relationships. (Photos courtesy of Emily Minor)
