Who is WCSA?

WCSA as the student government is divided into two different branches: The Executive Council which includes a Business Manager, the Vice President, and the President; and the General Council which includes the executive council and five class representatives. We also have an office administrator who is appointed by the president.

About Matt: He comes to Westmont from Colts Country–yep, you guessed it, Indianapolis, Indiana! Matt is a senior Cultural Anthropology and Biology major with plans to attend medical school next year. He loves going to new places and countries to meet new people and learn about other cultures. Matt has a passion for the poor and looks forward to a career in international health. In his free time, he enjoys running, cycling, wakeboarding, spending time with his family at their lakehouse in Indiana, and making people laugh. P.S. Matt fully expects the Indianapolis Colts to win the 2008 Super Bowl.

About Geriece: Geriece is a senior political science major interested in International Relations and international healthcare development. She grew up in Orange County, but after coming to Westmont became an out-of-state student from Phoenix, Arizona. She loves music (which is why most people find her humming a song while walking across campus) and she really likes McConnell’s strawberry ice cream. She has fun directing and dancing with Gospel Choir. In her spare time, she hangs out with friends and spends a lot of time laughing. That’s all.

About Peter: Peter is a senior Communication Studies major with a minor in Economics & Business. He’s really excited about working with the great people in WCSA and pursuing his passion of nonprofit marketing once he graduates this May. When he’s not slaving over a hot keyboard fulfilling his WCSA duties, you can most likely find Peter reading a good book, playing video games, singing in the College Choir, or down at Chipotle eating a steak burrito with extra corn salsa. His biggest passion in life is writing paragraphs about himself in the third person.

About Becky: - Becky is a sophomore English major on the secondary education fast track, and can’t wait to be a high school English teacher! She was born in the island kingdom of Tonga, and has lived in Yreka, Fortuna, Palo Alto, Mountain View, and Bakersfield, California. In her spare time, she likes to watch Ugly Betty and America’s Next Top Model and pretend she’s a country singer. Her favorite food is ice-cream.

About Ethan: He comes in peace from Vienna, Virginia. As a natural east coast boy, his hobbies include tennis, soccer, running, biking, singing in the shower and in choir, playing guitar and drums, surfing, lifeguarding, and waking up in the morning after 9-10 hour resting time. He is a kinesiology major with a pre-med emphasis. As a little known fact, Ethan is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and likes raspberries.

About Emily: Emily is a Communication Studies major. She is from Lake Don Pedro, California, which is located in the Yosemite foothills. Emily enjoys rap music, hip-hop trivia, watching commercials, and eating food that has lots of flavor. In the summertime, Emily does weed-whacking in the triple-digit heat and drinks gallons of unsweetened iced tea. At school, when she isn’t sleeping or being a responsible president, Emily can be found at the Pacific Ocean.

In her free time she enjoys napping, watching stand-up comedy, cooking exotic foods and reading anything that is handy. Her favorite foods are Pad Thai, Tangerine Whole Fruit Bars, and bacon.

About Lucas: Lucas is an Economics and Business major, hoping to become an entrepreneur some day. He has come to have a great appreciation for Westmont and all the beautiful people here. Lucas was born at the base of the Rocky Mountains in Hamilton Montana, where he lived for eight years. He has spent the last eight years living back east in Plymouth, Massachusetts. He is hoping to get both sides of United States culture during his time at Westmont. In his free time, he enjoys building relationships with people, pondering life’s questions, listening to good music, and being adventurous (i.e. hiking, camping, rock climbing, surfing, and skating.) He loves the outdoors, and it’s hard to get him to stay still for very long. People often ask him, if he has ADD or ADHD. But that is a negative, it’s more like a passion to live and love fueled by a lot of energy.
