CONDEMNED TO DIE : Bulgarian director kicks off Shakespeare fest with two condensed classics

For a Shakespeare tragedy to work, somebody has to die. At least one person, if not an entire court. In both “Measure for Measure” and “Othello,” the ruling forces produce a scapegoat who must die for honor.
