Kammerer floored in ceremony

During his 17 years at Westmont, Chet Kammerer’s teams were almost unbeatable at home, compiling a 198-39 record on their court. The school’s most successful coach has long since graduated to the pro ranks, but Westmont is hoping that some of that home-court magic carries on for years to come, as the new hardwood court at Murchison Gymnasium was officially named Kammerer Court during a ceremony before Saturday night’s game. “There are a lot of names they could have put on this court, but they picked the right guy,” said Randy Pfund, who coached under Kammerer. “Nobody has a better understanding of what it takes to win than him.” more
