Young Westmont Musicians Play for Top Honors

Westmont student musicians swept the top three instrumental honors April 30 at the Performing Arts Scholarship Foundation finals. Junior Erik Fauss, on viola, won first place ($5,000); senior Lalia Mangione, on violin, won second; and junior Tim Beccue, on cello, won third place. more

Paddle-Boarder Who Died at Harbor Was Former Westmont Soccer Player

The stand-up paddle-boarder who died Saturday at the Santa Barbara Harbor was a 2016 graduate of Westmont College and played soccer for both the Christian college and Santa Barbara City College. The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department’s coroner’s office released the man’s name late Monday afternoon. more

SBCC Baseball Coach Says Regional Playoff Foe Should ‘Fear the Persh’

SBCC baseball coach Jeff Walker noted at Monday’s Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table press luncheon that Cypress College asked about possibly hosting the Southern California Regional playoff series with the Vaqueros despite being the lower seeded team… Coach Russ Smelley said the 4×100 relay told the story of how the Westmont women pulled away from Biola to win the GSAC championship. more
