New supe focuses on classrooms and community

Superintendent Diana Rigby always wanted to get back to Carpinteria. The longtime educator lived in Carpinteria from 1986 to 2003 before returning to Massachusetts, where she’d grown up, to care for family. She pledged to come back to Carpinteria within three years. After 14 years in Massachusetts, where she presided over the 3,300-student Concord Public Schools and Regional School District as superintendent, she successfully landed the position of Carpinteria Unified School District superintendent. … She taught special education instruction at Westmont College and worked as an administrator in the areas of professional development, instruction assessment and curriculum in Ventura County. more
