Westmont’s baseball team opened a three-game series against Golden State Athletic Conference rival Vanguard with a 5-2 win in Costa Mesa on Friday. Warrior junior right-hander Grant Gardner seven-2/3 innings for the win, retiring the first 11 Lion batters and ended allowing two runs on six hits. Lance Simpson pitched 11/3 innings giving up one hit and no runs for the save. more

Westmont Baseball opened a three-game series with a 5-2 Golden State Athletic Conference victory over Vanguard on Friday in Costa Mesa. Grant Gardner (6-1) pitched seven and two-third innings to pick up the win. Gardner, who allowed two runs on six hits, retired the first 11 Lion batters. more
