Lancaster Joins Angelina College as Associate Dean

Dr. Daryl Lancaster is the new Associate Dean of the School of Science and Mathematics at Angelina College. Dr. Lancaster was previously employed as the Life Science Department Chair at Northwest Arkansas Community College (NWACC). He holds a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Westmont College and a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine from Southern California University of Health Sciences. more

Christina Bean has mixed emotions about her work as head of the 805 Conservation project to salvage and preserve damaged items from the disastrous Thomas Fire and resulting Jan. 9 Montecito mudslides. … For the freezing process, Ms. Bean had access to a massive industrial freezer, which was stored on the Westmont College campus from March through May. more

Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California has announced the addition of a women’s swimming team that will begin competition in the 2019-2020 academic year. The program is being supported by a $500,000  gift to the school by an unnamed donor for the purposes of launching the program.

The school is also adding men’s and women’s golf teams. more

Westmont to Add Women’s Swimming, Men’s, Women’s Golf Programs Next Year

Westmont College will be adding women’s swimming and men’s and women’s golf to its athletics program in the 2019-2020 academic year, the school announced on Friday.

The addition of the three sports will give the college 15 intercollegiate teams. The Warriors already compete in baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s track and field, and women’s volleyball. more

Members of Mariners 936 of Dana Point achieve Sea Scouting’s highest award

Mariners 936 Sea Scouts have announced that members Lily Maranto and Emma Lottman have been awarded Sea Scouting’s highest rank of Quartermaster. Nationwide, only about 40 Scouts achieve this honor each year. … Lottman graduated from Crean Lutheran High School and will attend Westmont College in the fall. more
