Carol was born in Louisville, KY, February 14,1938 to missionary parents. At an early age she lived in China with her parents and attended the American Lutheran School in Kikungshan, which was later moved to Hong Kong in 1947 as Chinese communist forces moved south. Living in China as a child fostered her interest and love for Christian Missions as an adult. She attended the Hampden DuBose Academy in Zellwood, FL, and was a 1958 graduate of Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL with a B.A. degree (with Honor). Since the 2014 season, the UCSB women’s soccer team has begun its season the same way: an exhibition match against Westmont College. Much like the past few years, the Gauchos defeated the Warriors but Saturday’s victory might have been the most dominant of them all.
