Westmont Professor Aims to Detect Cerebral Palsy in Preemies

Don Patterson, Westmont professor of computer science, and a team of scientists in Southern California are working to detect cerebral palsy (CP) in preterm babies.  The National Institute of Health (NIH) has awarded the researchers a grant to conduct studies of preemies in hopes of getting the medical innovations approved for clinical practice. The Westmont Track became the site of the newest track and field world record during the Sam Adams Combined Events Invitational. Derek Drouin, competing under NIKE sponsorship, recorded a height of 2.28 meters (7-5.75) in the high jump, exceeding the previous record by 0.01 meters. more

Victim of UCLA Shooting a Westmont Alum

New reports have emerged stating the victim of today’s shooting at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) campus is William S. Klug, a 1997* graduate of Westmont College.

The entire campus was placed on lockdown after a shooting Wednesday morning that left two people dead. more
