Westmont students headed for Singapore with help from Goleta-based Deckers: International Trade, Finance and Ethical Sourcing

The much-headlined summit between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is set for June 12 in Singapore. The timing of the historic event coincides with an international trade trip for a group of 17 students from  Westmont’s International Trade, Finance and Ethical Sourcing Class. more

The class of 2018 graduated from Westmont College on Saturday despite tragedies that marked their senior year.
Students evacuated at least 5 times during the Thomas Fire and the Montecito mudslides that almost took the life of one of their own.

Boucher steps down as San Marcos boys basketball head coach

KEYT Sports is the first to report that San Marcos High School boys basketball head coach Landon Boucher has stepped down after an historic season. … Boucher, who played at Westmont College, went 88-34 in his four years at San Marcos. His teams never missed the playoffs and never won fewer than 19 games in a season. more

Montecito Fire department gets back to business following deadly storm

MONTECITO, Calif. – The Thomas Fire and deadly mudslides in Montecito delayed Montecito Fire Protection District meetings. For the first time since the disasters Montecito Fire Department’s top officials had a chance to meet with the district in the new year. They met at Westmont College. more

Santa Barbara marks ninth anniversary of destructive Tea Fire

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. – This November 13 marks the ninth anniversary of the destructive Tea Fire in Santa Barbara County.

The flames broke out at 6:30 p.m. in the hills above Westmont College back in 2008 in an area known as the old Tea Gardens. more

Westmont Fire Brigade stands guard on campus as Thomas Fire rages on

MONTECITO, Calif. – A group of volunteer firefighters have been standing guard over Westmont College since the Thomas Fire broke out.

They are called the Fire Brigade, which was started after the devastating Tea Fire. more
