Kittle keeps it easy for Warriors in home opener

Junior Katie Kittle made seven of nine attempts from the floor, including four of six from beyond the arc to help lead Westmont Women’s Basketball (3-0) to an 87-55 win over Corban (0-1) of Oregon in the Warriors’ home opener. Kittle, who was also five for six from the free throw line, scored 23 points. more

Branson breaks out for 24 in Warrior win

Preston Branson scored 24 points and Dan Rasp added 19 as Westmont Men’s Basketball squeaked out a 98-92 double-overtime road victory against Northwest (Wash.) on Friday night. Junior TJ Lipold (14 points, 6 rebounds) nailed a three-point buzzer beater in regulation to tie the game at 71 and send it into overtime. Westmont improves to 2-0 on the season while Northwest, the sixteenth ranked team in NAIA Division II, fell to 1-1. more

Warriors avenge loss to Mustangs

Freshmen Ciara Turner and Tessa Martin led the Warriors with a combined 39 kills to help Westmont to a 3-2 Golden State Athletic Conference win over The Master’s (7-21, 2-17 GSAC) on Tuesday night in Murchison Gymnasium. Turner, a middle blocker, recorded 23 kills while posting an attack percentage of .348. She also posted five blocks. Martin tallied 16 kills and a .255 attack percentage. more
