Westmont Men’s Soccer Pulls Off Rare Victory Against UCSB with 2-1 Exhibition Win Led by Augie Andrade, Warriors snap 16-match losing streak against Gauchos

The Westmont men’s soccer team snapped a 16-match losing streak against UC Santa Barbara, handing the Gauchos a 2-1 loss in an exhibition game at Harder Stadium on Saturday night. Midfielder Augie Andrade assisted on the first goal and scored the second for the Warriors in the annual Bryant & Sons Cup between the crosstown rivals. UCSB leads the series 27-24-4. more

Linda Anne Lindberg, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away in Santa Barbara on July 14, 2017, at the age of 74. … Linda was born in New York City on June 20, 1943, the daughter of Donald and Barbara Raney. She graduated from Sequoia High School in Redwood City, CA, and from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, earning a B.A. degree in sociology in 1965. more

Don Gilman, an author, speaker and executive coach, has been elected president of the Santa Barbara Symphony Board of Directors. He succeeds Arthur G. High Schoolers Join Summer Theology Program at Westmont

Thirty high school students have arrived at Westmont to participate in Trailhead: Seeking God’s Call, a new youth theology institute led by the Gaede Institute for the Liberal Arts, through July 8. Some participants have come from as far away as Alaska and the Dominican Republic to explore theological traditions, ask questions about the moral dimensions of contemporary issues, and consider how their faith calls them to lives of service. more
