Westmont Men Climb Past Biola in Afternoon Win

Westmont Men’s Tennis (3-5) defeated the Eagles of Biola (2-7) by a score of 7-2 this afternoon. Singles were played first and Westmont’s Corey Stephens started off with a win over Quentin Lau 7-6 (7-2), 6-1 at the six position. Miles Hale triumphed over Joe Turnquist 6-2, 6-3 for the Warriors. Christian Mathis conquered Biola’s Derek James 6-2, 6-3. more

Landon Boucher Steps Down After Leading San Marcos to CIF Title

Landon Boucher is going out on top. The San Marcos boys basketball coach announced his resignation after leading the Royals to a Channel League title, their first CIF-Southern Section championship and first CIF State Tournament win in program history. … Boucher, who played basketball at Westmont College, said coaching college basketball is in his future. more

Lauren McCoy Carries Westmont Women in NAIA Tournament Opener

In a first-round game of the NAIA Women’s Basketball National Tournament, senior forward Lauren McCoy showed why she was named a Women’s Basketball Coaches Association NAIA First Team All-American earlier in the week. The senior recorded a double-double in the first half and went on to produce 26 points and 15 rebounds in top-seeded Westmont’s 57-52 victory over eighth-seeded Cumberland of Tennessee. more

Fourth-seeded Westmont Men’s Basketball fell to Dillard in the first round of the 2018 NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball National Championship, 74-71, on Wednesday night in Kansas City. Jerry Karczewski led Westmont’s scoring effort with 19 points to go along with five assists. more

Westmont Splits GSAC Doubleheader With Hope International

Westmont Baseball (15-10, 8-8 GSAC) split a Golden State Athletic Conference doubleheader  against Hope International (15-13, 7-10 GSAC). Westmont took the first game 7-1 and dropped game two 11-0. Grant Gardner threw a complete game in the opener to pick up his fifth win of the season to go with zero losses. He gave up three hits, struck out six, and walked none. The lone run he gave up was unearned. more
