24/7 Prayer Week is back again this semester!  It will be held next week, April 11-18.  Please follow the link below to sign up for one (or more) one-hour time slots.

Are you interested in applying for next year’s WSM core team?  Below are the descriptions for every position on the team.  If you have any questions, feel free to email us at wsm@westmont.edu. Or look at the WSM ‘Contact Us’ page to email people directly.

Co-Director [2; one male, one female]:

• Organize the agenda for weekly meetings
• Run weekly core-team meetings
• Meet with the Faculty and Staff to update them on ministries
• Meet with On-Campus/Off-Campus/Creative Communications Manager/ Office Businesses Administrator every two weeks to offer support and feedback
• Meet weekly with WSM staff advisor
• Organize Community Carnival (spring) to highlight clubs and ministries and assist with Community Picnic in the fall
• Work with WAC Directors & WCSA Executive Counsel to update them on WSM and plan events
• Meet with students to hear about their views and desires for ministry
• Cast a vision for the semester
• Work to improve community and the faith of students through WSM
• Organize and facilitate monthly all-ministry (URM) meetings with the assistance of the rest of the team

Off-Campus Co-Director [2; one male, one female] (approximately 6-8 hours/week)

• Hold weekly office hours
• Attend weekly core team meetings and regular fellowship activities
• Assist Co-Directors in planning monthly all-ministry (URM) meetings
• Attend ministries & meet with ministry leaders
• Help advertise for ministry events
• Act as a liaison for ministry leaders and the business manager by assisting leaders with logistical questions concerning room reservations, funding for transportation, food, and other ministry needs.
• Make sure that each ministry is connected to a credible organization beyond Westmont.
• Pray with all ministry leaders each meeting.

On-Campus Co-Director [2; one male, one female] (approximately 6-8 hours/week)

• Hold weekly office hours
• Attend weekly core team meetings and regular fellowship activities
• Assist Co-Directors in planning monthly all-ministry (URM) meetings
• Attend ministries & meet with ministry leaders
• Help advertise for ministry events
• Act as a liaison for ministry leaders and the business manager by assisting leaders with logistical questions concerning room reservations, funding for transportation, food, and other ministry needs.
• Ensure that each ministry is progressing toward reaching their stated goals.
• Pray with all ministry leaders each meeting.

Business Manager

• Oversee and monitor the WSM budget using the college’s accounting software, Vendorlink
• Create and approve check requests
• Oversee student stipends
• Reserve rooms for ministry leaders
• Provide support and help for ministry leaders regarding finances.

Creative Communications Manager

• Communicate with various ministries and core team
• Creatively produce publicity and advertisements for WSM
• Assess needs and budgets for advertisement work
• Manage the advertisement design and strategy of WSM and its Ministries
• Attend weekly core team meetings and regular fellowship activities
• Know basic design programs (Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign)
• Be able to delegate work to others
• Be responsible for own schedule and getting tasks complete.
• Update the website regularly.
• Be responsible for all-student emails
• In charge of all the posters made for ministries. Also, will host a poster-making night for the community carnival.
• Be responsible for food and any other needs for all-ministry (URM) meetings.

FCA, Not For Sale, and A Rocha are other great ministries that do not meet on a regular basis.  If you would like to get involved with those ministries, please contact the leaders to find out more information.  You can get in touch with each ministry leader by finding their contact information on the ministry leader contact tab above.

We are excited to offer a link that connects Westmont students with the Santa Barbara community! We have a new application that allows members from the community to post opportunities for Westmont students to volunteer. Organizations are continually updating volunteer opportunities so come back and check all of the new opportunities. Feel free to contact the organization if you have any more questions. For the new semester, we need both new and existing ministries to fill out applications (see below). If you are interested in starting a ministry please fill out the ‘Application’ form. If you have more than one leader, please have them fill out the ‘Leader Information Form’. For existing ministries, please fill out the ‘Ministry Renewal Application’. And if you have more than one leader, please have them fill out the ‘Leader Renewal Information Form’. There will also be copies of these applications outside of the WSM office (in the KSC). Please fill these out and slip them under the WSM office door by Friday, January 22. If you have any questions, please feel free to email wsm@westmont.edu!

24/7 prayer week is a beautiful time to pause our hectic lives to cover the campus, the city, and God’s creation with intercessory prayer. We are excited to partake once again in this wonderful tradition. If you feel so inclined, please sign up for at least one hour-long prayer slot in the Prayer Chapel. These times slots are definitely not exclusive, in fact we hope that more than one person at a time will show up. But let’s unite as the Westmont community, as brothers and sisters, as Christ’s body, to cover every single hour with prayer!
