Tea Fire: A Look Back

It was one year ago when a massive fire of historical proportions would forever affect us all. In the end, 231 homes would be lost. Thousands forced from their homes. And millions of dollars in damage, but thankfully, no lives would be lost. The explosive, wind driven fire broke out on November 13, 2008 at 5:45 p.m. in the hills directly above Westmont College and an area populated with custom built mountain homes, and multi-million dollar mansions. Embers were showering the area in many directions, immediately starting new fires. Some had flame lengths of 60 to 70 feet. more
