With Snow, Carols and a 150 Foot Christmas Tree, Westmont College Kicked off the Holiday Season

Among a big snow ball fight, apple cider, cookies and carols, Westmont College kicked off the holiday season with the eight annual Christmas tree lighting. The WCSA arranged for 20 tons of snow, which was delivered to the campus to create a snow play environment area behind the Dining Commons were hundred of students gather to throw snow balls at each other. After that, hundreds of students, alumni, and neighbors joined the celebration as the lights on the 150-foot redwood tree, affectionately known as The Giant Pickle, were turned on. Meanwhile, Santa Claus was inside the Kerrwood Hall posing for pictures with people who brought canned goods and unwrapped toys to donate to The Unity Shoppe to help the less fortunate in Santa Barbara. more
