Jupiter’s moon Io viewable at Westmont

MONTECITO – Westmont College will host a free public viewing using the powerful Keck Telescope to observe Jupiter’s fiery moon Io as it casts its shadow onto the planet. The viewing will take place on Friday Oct. 15 at the observatory near the soccer and baseball fields. The shadow transit of the moon will only be visible from 8:30-10:30 p.m. Members of the Santa Barbara Astronomical Unit are welcome to bring their own telescopes for the public viewing and free parking is located near the baseball field. more
