Montecito Barbers rises from the ashes

Matt Sanchez was in a deep sleep when he got the call at 2:40 a.m. on July 2, 2010. “The barber shop is on fire,” the caller, a fellow barber, said. Sanchez didn’t believe it. He thought it was a prank. So he decided to call 911. …  “It’s a friendly bunch of guys,” said J. Sears McGee, who’s been getting his hair cut there for 15 years. McGee is loyal; Martinez is the only guy at the shop to who he lets touch his hair.McGee lives near Westmont College. The shop has always been a convenient stop. more
