UCSB Named A Top Public National University

UCSB has been named a “Top 50 Public National University” by U.S. News & World Report. According to the report, UCSB was ranked 10. It was also ranked 42 in the “Best National Universities.” The university’s engineering school was ranked 38 on the “Best Programs at Engineering Schools Whose Highest Degree is a Doctorate.” Of the “Top 30 Public National Universities,” UC Berkeley and UCLA ranked at 1 and 2, UC San Diego at 8 and UC Davis at 9. Other local colleges that ranked well were Westmont College at 90 and Cal Poly at 19. more

September Voices: Three Poets for Autumn

The third season of the popular Mission Poetry Series kicks off on Saturday, September 24, at 1 p.m. at Mission Santa Barbara, with “September Voices: Three Poets for Autumn,” featuring Paul Willis, Carol DeCanio and Mary Natwick. Paul Willis is a professor of English at Westmont College where he has taught creative writing and British Renaissance literature for the last twenty-three years. more
