ON THE TOWN: WESTMONT GETS NEW ART MUSEUM

It was a picture-perfect setting to celebrate the official opening of the Westmont Museum of Art. Robert and Christine Emmons opened their Montecito home so guests could view their extensive art collection before being treated to a sunset view of the coast during dinner in the garden. The two visionaries behind the new museum are artists and educators Tony Askew and John Carlander, founders of Westmont’s Reynolds Gallery. The museum will serve not only the college but the community at large, with exhibits, lectures and more and is open free to the public. more
