Tutoring program returns

A tutoring program will re-launch Monday with new funding from the Community Action Commission of Santa Barbara County. The California Student Opportunity and Access Program, or Cal-SOAP, is a tutoring program that provides educational services and financial aid guidance to students, parents and schools from Goleta to Carpinteria. The program’s core service providers are 50 to 60 college students who serve as tutor peer advisors. Students from UCSB, Santa Barbara City College and Westmont College attended an orientation program with Cal-SOAP directors Friday. more
