Westmont LGBT Alumni Speak Up

A movement in support of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered students on Westmont College’s campus is picking up steam after dozens of alumni cosigned a letter that was submitted to the college last week. The letter was prompted by a letter to the editor that was published in the school paper last year. It was written by someone who didn’t go to Westmont, but was in support of Westmont LGBT students living on the school’s campus. more

JM Holliday Associates Selected To Design New Westmont Dining Facility Project

JM Holliday Associates Architects have been selected by Westmont College to design a new 11,300 SF state-of-the-art renovation of the existing dining commons on the Montecito campus. The new project will be located within the existing Kerr Student Center and involve new food service and dining facility improvements to better serve the student body. The $1.6 million project is slated to begin construction this summer to be ready for occupancy in the fall of 2011. Michael Holliday AIA is the Principal Architect-in-Charge of the project and Michelle Swanitz is the Project Manager. Webb Design is the Food Service Consultant for the project and MATT Construction is the General Contractor. more

Westmont ends victory drought against Vanguard

For the second time in a week, No. 21 Westmont has defeated a higher ranked team. This time the victory came on the road, as the Warriors (18-5, 10-5 GSAC) defeated the Lions of No. 14 Vanguard (13-8, 9-6) by a score 64-60 in Golden State Athletic Conference girls basketball action. On Thursday, the Warrior’s knocked off No. 3 California Baptist 83-71. more
