Warriors start season with qualifying times

Westmont Track and Field hosted its first meet of the season on Saturday in the form of the Westmont Indoor Invitational. Four Golden State Athletic Conference schools joined the Warriors for the non-scoring event – Biola, Concordia, Fresno Pacific and Vanguard. more

Junior guard Landon Boucher dialed in five baskets from long distance to lead Westmont Men’s Basketball (16-6, 8-5 GSAC) to a 77-72 Golden State Athletic Conference win over California Baptist (12-11, 6-8) in Murchison gym on Thursday night. Boucher finished with 19 points and three rebounds. more

UCSB is not enjoying any comfort at home in Big West men’s basketball. The Gauchos lost for the third time in five conference games on their own floor Thursday night. Pacific rode a torrid first half (10 for 15 from three-point range) to a 74-68 victory at the Thunderdome. The Gauchos are now 2-3 at home and 4-5 overall in the league. The defending champions will try to get back to .500 on Saturday night when they host UC Davis in a game to be televised by Fox Sports Prime. more
