Grant to raise $1M for Westmont chemistry research

The John Stauffer Charitable Trust has awarded a $500,000 matching grant to endow the Westmont College chemistry department’s Summer Science Research Program, college spokesman Scott Craig announced Monday. The Pasadena-based trust, which provides financial support to science education at colleges, universities and hospitals throughout Southern California, will match each dollar donated to the program through 2017 until the program is endowed with $1 million.
