Laguna Blanca School Gearing Up for Homecoming Weekend: This year’s celebration includes the First Ever Alumni Day

Once an Owl, always an Owl! Laguna Blanca School is ramping up school pride and calling on all alumni to come out and support the school. Homecoming Weekend at Laguna kicks off this Friday and lasts through Sunday, and will be filled with new and old friends, good fun and Laguna traditions. And this year, the school has put a call out to all alumni to come back and visit their high school teachers, reunite with classmates and cheer on the current teams. … The following day will commence with the Grand Luncheon at 1 p.m., where Laguna will be honoring all alumni celebrating 50-plus years since graduating high school. Laguna is delighted to share that Westmont College French professor Mary Collier, Class of 1962, will be attending, fresh off of being knighted by France as a Chevalier dans l’Ordres des Palmes Académiques. more

Big hearts : Hundreds join walk to fight heart disease

Mentors help special needs athletes play baseball

In its fourth year, the Miracle League of Ventura, along with the Magdaleno Baseball School, offers young people with special needs a chance to play baseball, with Buena High and Westmont College baseball players acting as mentors. more

Jake Jeanson

Jake Jeanson was born to Dave & Britney Jeanson on March 31, 1991. He was born and raised in Riverside, California where he discovered a passion for running. After winning the Division 5 Cross Country State competition of 2008 Jake would become inspired to continue his running career at Westmont College. During that time he would participate in both Cross Country and Track & Field. His time and training at Westmont College would earn him the title of “All-American” through his achievements in the distance medley during the 2011 track season. more
