ART REVIEW: Flying Local Colors, Contemplations – ‘Confluence,’ This year’s edition of the Westmont Art Museum survey of Santa Barbara artists, is one of the stronger entries in the long-standing tradition

Around this time of year, the curatorial forces at Westmont College have a habit of casting a wide net to strong contemporary artists in the Santa Barbara area, with group shows showcasing the artistic energies in the community. For years in its humble but notable Reynolds Arts Gallery, and just recently in the wondrous art space known as the Westmont Ridley-Tree Museum of Art, one of the best new places to see art in the area. And that humble opinion passed off as fact only advances the sensation that this year’s local art survey, dubbed “Confluence,” is one of the strongest such gatherings yet. more
