WSoc: Steck lifts Westmont to overtime win

“Kelsey Steck played worthy of the Player of the Week honor she received this week and she now has five goals in two games,” said Westmont head coach Kristi Kiely. “More than anything else, I’m happy to get a victory in an overtime game this year. Caird wins Channel golf title in playoff

The Warriors avenged their first loss of the season with a 25-17, 25-19, 25-17 non-conference victory over the Cougars.

Madison Serrano led the Warriors (17-5) with nine kills, while Ciara Turner, Marie Trudelle and Sydney Striff had seven kills each for the Warriors. Libero Kami Troesh had seven digs in the victory. more

A determined TMC squad played the No. 3 nationally ranked Warriors to a standstill for 90 minutes, but Westmont sophomore and former Hart graduate Kelsey Steck was just that much more determined — scoring two goals, including the overtime winner, in a 3-2 Westmont victory. more

WVB: Warriors pocket feel-good victory

Five weeks ago, Westmont Volleyball took at perfect 12-0 record into a match in Escondido against Cal State San Marcos and returned home with their first defeat of the year, losing 3-1. Tonight, the #16 Warriors had an opportunity to avenge that earlier loss when the #24 Cougars came calling at Murchison. Avenge they did, sweeping the Cougars 25-17, 25-19, 25-17. more

William Wiersma Golf and Disc Tournament: October 28 @ 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Two variations of golf unite at the sixth annual tournament, combining golf and disc gold at Montecito Country Club. Registration and lunch begin at noon, with hors d’oeuvres, award and prizes handed out at 6 p.m. All proceeds benefit William Wiersma Endowment Scholarship Fund and Westmont Fund to support student scholarships.

Fall teams gear up for late-season push
