See Jupiter’s red spot at Westmont Observatory

Santa Barbara – Stargazers hoping to catch a glimpse of Jupiter’s red spot have at chance at a public viewing at Westmont College’s observatory at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

The event is free and will last for several hours.

“Jupiter will be near the top of the sky during the early hours of the public viewing, so we should get some clear and steady views of the planet and maybe the ancient storm,” said Dr. Thomas Whittemore, physics professor at Westmont. more
