Renowned Russian pianist Vassily Primakov, who recently released a new, two-CD album, Chopin: 51 Mazurkas, performs Saturday, April 25, at 3 pm in First United Methodist Church… The concert, which is co-sponsored by Dr. and Mrs. Robert Logan and the Westmont College Music Department, is a fundraiser for Westmont’s piano program. more

The 100-day countdown to the start of the 2015 Special Olympics World Games began April 16. …Athletes will stay at Westmont, use the college’s facilities for training, and visit various locations throughout Santa Barbara to learn about the city’s culture. more

The Westmont College Orchestra and Choir, including 120 student musicians, faculty and staff, are making a whirlwind tour of Italy May 12-23.
They’ll be playing concerts in Rome, Florence, Cremona and Venice (kind of makes you wish you’d stuck with those lessons, doesn’t it?). The tickets are bought, the reservations are made and the schedule is fixed, but before they leave, the young musical voyagers will try out their tour program in four local concerts, two in Santa Barbara and two in the Los Angeles area. more
Westmont’s Alex Bush was named the Golden State Athletic Conference baseball Player of the Year and Russel Haremening was the GSAC pitcher of the year when conference awards were released on Tuesday. more
Assistant Chantel Cappuccilli has been named the head coach of the Westmont women’s soccer team, Athletic Director Dave Odell announced Thursday.
Cappuccilli has served as an assistant coach under Kristi Kiely for the past two seasons. Kiely resigned last month to take an assistant coach position at the University of Arkansas. more
Westmont Men’s Soccer has announced the signing of seven recruits for the Class of 2015. These student-athletes, with an outstanding combined grade-point average of 3.83, will matriculate at Westmont in the fall. All reside in California, four from Southern California, one from the Central Valley, and two from the Bay Area. more
Westmont Women’s Basketball head coach Kirsten Moore has announced the signing of two talented student-athletes: Kayla Sato (West Torrance High School, Torrance) and Macy Gipson (Westview High School, San Diego). more
