Perseids Peak Takes Center Stage In Night Sky

Westmont College in Montecito is known for having an observatory, but you don’t need a giant telescope to watch the Perseid meteor shower also known as the Perseids meteors. Dr. Ken Kihlstrom said, “The Perseid Meteor shower is going through debris from the comet Swift-Tuttle. It gives you a chance to see a shooting star once a minute or two. The best way to see it is to lay back in a lawn chair and look up at the sky.” more
