Sounds of the Scene: GOING FOURTH IN SONG

In between the conventional celebration events on July 4th, the State Street parade and the fireworks by West Beach by night, the West Coast Symphony settles into the Santa Barbara Courthouse Sunken Gardens for a festive, free-to-the-public concert. Conducted by longtime maestro Christopher Story VI and Westmont music department’s Michael Shasberger, the orchestra will serve up a platter of music by John Philip Sousa, Morton Gould and Broadway chestnuts, with special guest artist Steve “America’s tenor” Amerson at the microphone. more
