Project Grad Students Learn About Jupiter and Juno On First Day At Westmont: Westmont College Observatory offers view of planet being studied by NASA

On their first day at Westmont College, Project Grad students said the Keck Telescope helped them understand the Juno spacecraft’s arrival in Jupiter’s orbit on Independence Day. The Westmont Observatory’s Keck Telescope is a 24-inch F/8 Cassegrain reflecting instrument with Richey-Chretien optics. Visitors are able to climb a ladder and look at Jupiter during the early evening. They can’t see Juno, the spacecraft that launched in 2011 it isn’t big enough even though it is said to be the size of a basketball court. more
