Augie Andrade’s Play on Offense Rewards Westmont’s Defense in a 3-0 Win

Augie Andrade made it happen for the Westmont men’s soccer team, and the Warriors. Andrade scored a goal and contributed to two others, leading the Warriors to a 3-0 win over William Jessup in the Golden State Athletic Conference opener on Thursday at Thorrington Field. He is survived by his wife Margaret, son Gordon, daughter Lisa (Lynch); sisters-in-law Leata Judd and Elizabeth French; and his grandchildren Jeremy, Amy, and great-grandchild Ryen; nieces Jodie, Rhonda, Rochelle, and Cecilia; nephews Jerry, Tom, David, Randy, and Jerome; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews…. Notable exhibits throughout his career include the traveling exhibit “Art and Science, Perfectly Beautiful” sponsored by the Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C. Both of Westmont’s nationally ranked teams hope this Saturday’s doubleheader gets them off to a good start in the Golden State Athletic Conference. The Warrior men (1-1-3) have allowed one goal in their last four matches while scoring just two themselves. Goalkeeper Lalo Delgado and the defense will be challenged by Menlo (4-2-1), which scored 14 times in its last three games. more
