Dordt College followed up a win over the Hastings College Broncos earlier in the day in the first round of elimination bracket play with a 3-0 win over Westmont late Friday night in the quarterfinal round to advance to the semifinals Saturday morning. more

Westmont Squeaks by Pomona Pitzer With 70-69 Win

(POMONA, Calif.) Westmont Men’s Basketball (9-2) was able to squeak out a victory tonight against Pomona-Pitzer by a score of 70-69. Olisa Nwachie forced a jump ball and Kyle Scalmanini hit the game winning free throw for the Warriors. more

Strong Team Effort Powers Westmont Past Bethesda

(SANTA BARBARA, Calif.) Senior center Morgan Haskin and freshman guard Lauren Tsuneishi each scored 20 points and senior forward Lauren McCoy produced a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds as #7 Westmont Women’s Basketball (5-3) posted an 81-59 win over the Flames of Bethesda (0-14). McCoy also tallied four assists while Haskin collected nine rebounds. more

The Westmont Volleyball season came to an end in the quarterfinals of the NAIA National Championship, as the sixth-ranked Warriors fell to the Defenders of Dordt College in three sets,  25-18, 25-19, 27-25. more

SIOUX CITY, IOWA — Westmont Volleyball emerged from pool play at the NAIA National Championship undefeated with a 25-12, 25-16, 31-29 sweep of 11th-ranked Midland of Nebraska (21-10) on Thursday. he sixth-ranked Warriors (35-3) will advance to the single-elimination, 16-team championship bracket as the top seed, with its next match today at 1:45 p.m. PST. more

IN CONCERT: Spiritualized Seasons’ Greetings

For 13 years now, the Westmont College music department, in collaboration with other arts-related elements of the famed Christian liberal arts college, have put on a special holiday pageant, with an intent to “keep the ‘Christ’ in Christmas.” In recent years, the Westmont Christmas Festival, which presents a total of four performances between tonight and Sunday afternoon at the First Presbyterian Church, has become an increasingly popular piece of Santa Barbara’s Christmas season calendar. more
