LOCAL ROUNDUP: Warriors sweep GSAC road twinbill

The defense wasn’t always there for the fifth-ranked Westmont baseball team in Friday’s Golden State Athletic Conference series opener at Menlo College, but the offense made up for things in a twinbill sweep, 9-8 and 6-4. The Warriors (21-2) built up a seven-run lead in the opener, only to have the Oaks rally with six runs in the final three innings, Bailey Reid entered with the winning run on base, but got a strikeout to end the threat and the game. Austin Muller went 2-for-5 in the opener, hitting a three-run homer in the fourth inning that broke open a one-run Westmont lead. Isaiah Leach added two hits, scoring twice in the win. more
